Igor Arrieta won stage 5 of the 2026 Giro d'Italia, a 203km rain-soaked stage from Praia a Mare to Potenza, edging Afonso Eulálio in the final hundred metres after both riders crashed in the closing kilometres. Arrieta's biggest career victory; the win came after a 60km-plus solo attack from the breakaway. Eulálio took the maglia rosa.
